Consultant | Construction Analyst
POSITION SUMMARY
Point is currently hiring for Consultants to assist with a variety of construction projects throughout the United States and overseas (travel may be required). Our office headquarters is located in Asheville, NC with a satellite office in Charlotte, NC. We allow full remote positions if the applicant can demonstrate a high level of accountability but prefer candidates who are located in NC, SC, TN, VA, or GA.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform scheduling, project controls, risk and change management, and forensic analysis services including:
- Perform scheduling and schedule analysis services for on-going construction projects
- Perform forensic critical path method schedule analysis, and analyses of non-critical delays
- Analyze labor and equipment productivity
- Analyze and prepare construction claims
- Perform change order analysis
- Analyze contracts and project documents to determine entitlement and causation for impacts
- Analyze cost reports, invoices, transaction details, and other project records to quantify additional costs resulting from project changes, delays, inefficiencies, and construction disputes
- Draft objective and convincing reports, summary documents, and presentations describing analyses performed and conclusions

- Create systems that improve company efficiency and quality, while reducing costs to clients
- Contribute to the industry body of knowledge through published writings, lectures, trainings, etc.
- Attend continuing education seminars and conferences
REQUIREMENTS
Intangibles

Prior Experience
- 1-3 years of Project Controls, Civil Tech, or Civil experience
Minimum Requirements
- 2+ Years of creating, analyzing, and manipulating data in Primavera (P6)
- Expert level Microsoft Excel. Excel experience must include use of advanced functions such as lookups, index, match, countifs, etc., along with the use of Pivot tables and charts
- Familiarity with other industry software such as MS Project, Bluebeam, Fuse
- Demonstrated knowledge of project controls and cost reporting
- Possess strong writing and communication skills, attention to detail and exceptional analytic abilities
Education and Professional Background
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management (or near completion of), or alternate degree with prior commercial construction management experience is required. You will not be considered without meeting this qualification.
- Advanced degree in engineering or construction management is also beneficial
- Industry certifications or licensure is highly desired
